Look Vine Interview

Recently I was asked to take part in a Fashion Bloggers Interview. Now, I’ve never really considered myself to be a fashion blogger, I just am what I am and wear what I feel comfortable in. I certainly don’t try and follow any fads or trends. I was keen to see what the interview entailed and I must admit I found the questions to be quite thought provoking….. Anyway, here’s the interview that I gave xx

What is one fashion rule you never break?

When it comes to fashion and finding a style that suits you, I think its wise to remember two things. One is your particular body shape and two is your age. There’s nothing wrong with wanting to be on trend, but I think there’s a style to suit all ages and body shapes, the trick is knowing which one you are.

What interests you in fashion?

What interests me in fashion is the way it has an ability on how you feel as a person. A new outfit can boost your confidence and make you feel like a million pounds, and with some many high street stores and small online businesses out there it doesn’t have to cost the earth to look good and feel good too.

What styling advice would you give your younger self ?

I was always a very shy person by nature, so the advice I would give myself is to just embrace the skin I’m in. When you’re young its like a blank canvas you’ve got total control for the first time in your life to express yourself in a fashion sense. So I’d say just go for it! Try lots of different styles and combinations, be expressive, be creative and enjoy the exploration. Dare to be different and don’t just follow the crowd.

How would you describe a perfect fashion look and is there a person who is an inspiration  to you for this?

To me a perfect fashion look would be one that makes me feel comfortable, yet glamorous and sexy yet stylish.  Audrey Hepburn had this look down to a tee! she’s was never overtly blazen in her style, yet everyone knows her and the fact that she is a complete style icon.

One tip you would give to our readers

“Own your own style”. Believe in yourself and your own self worth. If you feel confident in what you are wearing then that will come across. If your skirt is too short or your top is too revealing and you are constantly tugging them down or up respectively, then this will show and you will not come across and “owning” your style, but rather as just being a bit awkward.
